I'm sure she's a great vet but I'll never find out she's way too expensive. I was charged almost $200 for pain medicine that goes for $15 on the internet. Got an estimate for between $5k and $6k for lab work and MRI.
Paws down the best place to take your animals in need of specialty treatment!
These doctors were the only ones to properly diagnose my dog. Unfortunately it was too little too late as my sweet dog died shortly afterwards. (no fault of theirs) She was elderly and sick but I often think had I known these doctors before her death, maybe she would have had less pain in her later years. Wonderful, caring staff. Thank you for your care of Phoebe.
Yes, going to a specialist is expensive, even with insurance. But often times you get what you pay for. We recently rescued a dog with little known history and discovered an instability she has when standing and sitting. After blood work and x-rays, we still have no diagnosis. But we know what she doesn't have and we have baselines for future tests, if they need to be done. I feel all the work was in the best interests of my dog. While we can't afford an MRI at this time, I am counting on Dr Kube and her wonderful, caring staff to help us figure out how to give our dog the best possible quality of life we can. I did have to ask for a written prescription but it was given to me cheerfully. All in all, I would recommend VNPMCNE - if you can afford it.
I’ve been a Veterinary professional for 15 years and a Certified Veterinary Technician for 7 years. I’ve worked at many speciality hospitals and have gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in doing so. Working with Dr. Amato at Veterinary Neurology and Pain Management center of New England has been a wonderful learning experience. With Dr. Amato’s progressive pain management protocols we have been able to do something that in all my years of being a technician I have yet to see. We have been able to do same day TTA (Tibial Tuberosity Advancement) procedures. These advanced methods of pain control make it so families can have the their beloved canine back with them to relax and mend at home. No more worrying about how your pet is fairing with being in the hospital. This is truly an amazing progression in veterinary orthopedic surgery and pain control. Our patients are waking up from surgery more comfortable and ready to start using their repaired limb much faster than I have ever seen. I am so thankful to be apart of such a developing and forward thinking facility. Dr. Amato and Dr. Kube really care about the well being and comfort of your pet, and want to do what is best for them. Having your pet happy, healthy and back with their families is incredible. - Jennifer Boston, CVT
